Kanchan Gurung is a Registered Early Childhood Educator who graduated with High Honours from Seneca College in 2025. Her journey in early childhood education began in her home country of Nepal, where she volunteered with children for several months. That experience sparked her passion for working with children and inspired her to continue her education and professional growth in Canada.
Kanchan has two years of hands-on experience supporting children across a variety of age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarten and school-age children. She believes every child has unique potential and, with the right guidance, encouragement and opportunities, can grow and develop in their own individual way. She strives to create a warm, welcoming and respectful environment where children and their families feel safe, valued, heard and understood.
At Momentum Montessori, Kanchan brings compassion, cultural awareness and a nurturing presence to the classroom, supporting each child’s development while fostering a strong sense of belonging and community.
Fun Facts:
Kanchan grew up surrounded by the beautiful hills of Nepal, which helped foster her strong connection to nature and sense of peace. She enjoys exploring a variety of interests and experiencing a little bit of everything. Kanchan belongs to an Indigenous community in Nepal and is passionate about preserving and celebrating her culture. She especially enjoys performing traditional dances and has won several cultural events.
