Karen has been working with children since she graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Education. With over 25 years of experience teaching, she is dedicated to fostering the intellectual, creative, social, emotional, and physical growth of young learners.
Upon moving from her hometown of Montreal to Toronto, Karen began her career teaching Junior Kindergarten and French to children from first to seventh grade. She later moved to the United States where she also taught Kindergarten and ran a home-based preschool for nine years. Karen has since taught Junior and Senior Kindergarten, served as an Educational Consultant and Behavioural Management Specialist. She is experienced in curriculum and program development and is passionate about designing methods to help children reach their full potential.
Karen believes all children can learn and flourish given the correct tools and environment. She sees each child as a unique individual and is dedicated to developing multiple strategies to help all children grow and succeed. She strives to create a learning environment that encourages curiosity and nurtures development in a positive, engaging, fun atmosphere. It is her goal to motivate children to view the world around them as a place of learning and discovery and to instill in them a desire to become lifelong learners. Being a part of a child’s academic, social and emotional growth and development has and continues to bring her great joy and satisfaction.
